Arena PLM for AWS GovCloud and Tulip MES
Arena provides a secure, single source of truth to manage product and quality information while Tulip bridges the gap between engineering and manufacturing execution
Arena’s integration with Tulip streamlines collaboration across teams, boosts production efficiency, and improves defect tracking—helping Echodyne stay compliant and deliver high-quality products faster
Echodyne designs and builds advanced radar solutions that unlock new sensing capabilities for intelligent systems and autonomous machines. By combining patented metamaterials electronically scanned array (MESA®) technology with powerful software, Echodyne radars significantly improve situational awareness to increase safety and save lives.
As Echodyne evolved from a startup into a fast-growing organization, the limitations of manual, paper- and file-based manufacturing processes became increasingly evident. Managing electronic device history records in a file-based system introduced security risks, uncontrolled changes, and traceability gaps. These issues jeopardized compliance and slowed production amid rising demand for their radar solutions.
To support their growth, Echodyne needed a clear, auditable process for build operations—one that could automatically populate device history records, enforce control points during product assembly, and stay synchronized with Arena PLM for AWS GovCloud. This foundation would ensure scalability and quality, allowing every product to meet rigorous standards without sacrificing speed or flexibility.
The Echodyne team discovered that Arena PLM for AWS GovCloud offered a direct connection to Tulip—a frontline operations platform designed to help manufacturers build and deploy digital solutions. Bridging the gap between engineering and production, this integration promised capabilities that aligned perfectly with Echodyne’s needs for scalability, security, and operational control.
The Arena–Tulip Connector provides a streamlined link between product lifecycle management and manufacturing execution, enabling seamless data flow from Arena into Tulip’s environment. With this low-code connection, Echodyne could ensure that the latest product information from Arena is visible at operator workstations through Tulip apps, reducing reliance on manual updates and mitigating risks associated with outdated or incomplete data. Furthermore, frontline operators could gain contextual access to critical information, enforce control points during assembly, and maintain alignment.
By implementing Tulip’s composable MES alongside Arena PLM for AWS GovCloud, Echodyne created a fully connected cloud-native ecosystem that digitized manufacturing processes and strengthened collaboration across engineering, quality, and production teams.
The PLM-MES integration supports design for manufacturability (DFM) by ensuring that the people behind the processes—engineers, operators, and quality teams—work from the same source of truth and can collaborate seamlessly to refine designs before they reach the shop floor.

The Arena–Tulip Connector enables product data—such as BOMs, SOPs, and work instructions—to flow directly from Arena PLM into Tulip. Operators see the latest released SOPs and manufacturing instructions at their workstation, eliminating confusion and reducing errors that lead to costly scrap and rework. “The information is right at the fingertips of our operators, and they can be confident they’re working from the latest document revision,” stated Brickner.
With automated data flows and robust traceability, Echodyne now has real-time visibility into quality events, making regulatory audits more efficient and allowing teams to address nonconformances before they escalate. “The PLM-MES integration helps organizations like Echodyne track defects better and get a more holistic view of nonconformance reports (NCRs) and root cause,” noted William VanBuskirk, U.S. Alliances Lead at Tulip.
Eventually, Echodyne will expand its use of Tulip’s AI-powered tools to optimize quality workflows. This entails integrating their own AI capabilities for receiving inspection within Tulip. They also plan to pull nonconformances, CAPAs, and training records from Arena into Tulip, creating a fully unified quality ecosystem. These initiatives will help Echodyne stay agile, scale efficiently, and innovate with confidence while meeting stringent aerospace and defense standards.
