By leveraging Arena Workspace Archiving functionality, you can automatically generate a local copy of your product data and readily import it into spreadsheets, databases, and other systems for review and storage.

Once the Workspace Archiving functionality is activated, the Account Administrator can request an archive update quarterly, from within the account administration tool. Upon request, a new archive will be generated containing the full set of CSV metadata available at the time of extraction. For file attachments, the initial archive delivery will contain a download of all file attachments available in Arena PLM at the time of extraction. Subsequent delta archive deliveries will again contain the full set of CSV metadata, but only the new files/editions that have been added to Arena PLM since the previous archive package was extracted. The combination of the latest full CSV metadata extract and the cumulative files/folders delivered will constitute the latest full on-premises archive.
All archive deliveries will be made via electronic download. An Arena dashboard notification will be generated to alert the Administrator that the Archive has been completed and a separate email will provide instructions on how to download it from our secure servers.

Workspace Archiving is valuable for customers who, separate from the Arena application, want to maintain a current copy of their electronic product records on their own premises for specific needs such as record retention under FDA regulations or internal business process requirements. For these customers, Arena Workspace Archiving provides a simple, reliable way to generate and download an on-premises archive of the entire product record managed in Arena. Storing, securing, and maintaining integrity of all downloaded archive files is the responsibility of the customer.
