Arena Posts Strong Third Quarter Results

Arena, maker of cloud PLM applications, posted 35 percent growth in total subscription bookings compared to the same period last year.

“Our customers are expanding their deployments of Arena at historic rates as they seek cost effective ways to grow their business and compete with larger players in an uncertain economic climate.” says Craig Livingston, CEO at Arena.

New customers are drawn to Arena’s unique combination of ecosystem-connected functionality, low up-front cost and ease of deployment. “These qualities enable innovative manufacturers in the high-tech electronics, energy, consumer and medical industries to competitively deliver their products to market faster, and with higher profit margins,” says Livingston. The following companies are among Arena’s new customer wins.

  • Symbotic, a maker of automated warehouse storage and retrieval systems
  • All Power Labs, a leader in small-scale gasification for everyday use
  • Neuronix Medical Ltd., a leader in the effort to find new methods for treating Alzheimer Disease
  • Leap Motion, provider of innovative ways to interact with computers without a mouse or keyboard
  • Rodan & Fields, maker of a prestigious line of skin care products
  • Penta GmbH, an early-stage company producing equipment for the medical industry

Recent Product Advances Responsible for Success of Quarter
“The success of the recent quarter,” says Livingston, “is due in large part to Arena’s ongoing investment in its products.” All areas of the Arena product suite—BOMControl, PartsList and PDXViewer—have seen recent, major updates that make customers more productive. With the enhancements, customers can dynamically connect bills of materials (BOMs) to useful cloud content and leverage a more complete product data set throughout a broad range of use cases, business processes and extended supply chain partners.

PartsList – The new Supplier Select feature in PartsList leverages parts data in Octopart, and helps engineering teams compare cost and availability data for millions of parts from a variety of sources as they develop a BOM. “These enhancements improve efficiencies and time to market,” says Livingston.

PDXViewer – The enhanced version of PDXViewer—an app that manages communication of a product’s manufacturing build package data—now sends and stores files in the cloud.  With PDXViewer’s new capabilities, users can share design content including notes, quantity to build, delivery information, and a convenient link inviting the recipient to view without having to download the file. The sender receives a confirmation when the build package is opened. “The enhanced version of PDXViewer makes it easier for mid-sized manufacturers to become more competitive against larger companies through the use of an affordable cloud solution,” says Livingston.
