Tips & Hints for Passwords
Use this sheet for quick reference about passwords in BOMControl.
Password Guidelines
BOMControl passwords are case-sensitive, must be 6-18 characters long, and must contain at least one letter and one number. For security reasons, BOMControl prompts you to change your password every 90 days. You may choose the same password.
Change Your Own Password
You can change your own password at any time, from within BOMControl.
- Click Edit Preferences in the header of any BOMControl page.
- Make sure you’re on the Profile view.
- Click Change Password on the right side of the View bar.
- Type your current and new passwords in the relevant fields.
- Click Change Password.
Change Employee Passwords: Admins Only
If an Employee user forgets his/her password, you can reset it in the Account Administration tool.
- Click Edit Workspace Settings to enter the Account Administration tool.
- Click the [Workspace Name] Employees tab.
- Make sure you’re looking at the Enabled Access view and locate the Employee whose password you wish to change.
- Click the First Name of the Employee. You’ll be taken to the Profile view for that Employee.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter and confirm a new temporary password. Select the checkbox to email the password to the employee. Note that Arena Solutions recommends not emailing a password, because email is not a secure mode of communication.
- After the Employee logs in with the temporary password, s/he will need to set a new password.
Reset Partner and Supplier User Passwords
Because a Partner or Supplier user may work with multiple BOMControl customers, only Arena Support can reset the passwords of these user types.
- Have the Partner or Supplier user contact Arena by clicking Send Us Feedback at the bottom of any BOMControl page. We’ll give them a temporary password they can use to log in and select a new password.
