Cellnet Technology, Inc. Cellnet manages real-time meter data solutions for electric, gas and water utilities. The Atlanta-based company’s products allow remote meter reading for 16 major utilities and more than nine million meters.

Cellnet’s client-server PLM system forced the company to run its own servers and invest time in maintenance and upkeep. The company’s project manager wanted to free Cellnet from the costs and hassles associated with maintaining internal servers and eliminate the overhead, inflexibility and uncertainty inherent in such systems.

Cellnet needed a centralized product data system that would not require maintenance and would allow integration with the existing QAD MFG/PRO ERP system.
