As director of human resources and operations, Jan Russo oversees employee relations, compensation and performance management, legal compliance and a variety of day-to-day business operations at Arena.

The second person to be hired by the founders of Arena, Jan has played a key role in hiring every employee since then and has been instrumental in shaping the customer-centric culture that defines the company. She has led the development of numerous operational policies and the implementation of multiple business systems, helping ensure that the company operates smoothly and has the freedom to focus on its customers and the market at large. Her approach to human resources is similarly marked by a commitment to aligning the company’s practices with its business objectives. Jan’s previous experience includes a variety of roles in academic and corporate settings.

Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Stanford University.
