Arena PLM Integrates with Kenandy Cloud ERP

Cloud_PatrnershipArena recently partnered with Kenandy, a cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for midmarket and large enterprises, which is built on the Salesforce platform. The Kenandy ERP solution automates core business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, planning and production, global financials, and trade promotion management.

“Kenandy empowers people to work the way they want to work on any device anywhere in the world—it’s easy to use, implement and change,” says Stewart Florsheim, Kenandy’s VP of Marketing. “Our ERP solution creates enterprise agility and provides a foundation for business innovation and transformation.”

According to Florsheim, Kenandy’s partnership with Arena benefits manufacturers across many different industries. “Our customers also use Arena PLM to help them build and manage prototypes, and the product data can be immediately exported into Kenandy, so the parts can be ordered through their supply chain,” he said. The seamless integration can help customers bring products to market faster.”

Kenandy and Arena’s customer, Primus Power, delivers clean tech energy storage solutions based on advanced technology. Kenandy’s cloud ERP and Arena’s cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions help support the company’s groundbreaking design and engineering activities. According to Mark Collins, senior director of operations at Primus Power, it was essential that they automate the integration between their ERP and PLM system to eliminate errors and accelerate planning and procurement.

“In Primus Power’s fast-moving, design-focused environment, an engineer can implement a product idea or improvement in the Arena PLM system and within minutes the new part data is transferred to Kenandy,” said Collins.  “Instantly, people throughout the company can find newly released part information with its pricing and supply history.”

Collins says the partnership between Kenandy and Arena has provided his supply chain team with greater enterprise-wide visibility into design processes to reduce product errors and streamline delivery of new products. “Kenandy not only integrates seamlessly with Arena PLM,” says Collins, “its integration with the Salesforce Platform gives us additional flexibility that lets us rapidly configure functionality for our specific business needs. That was a powerful differentiator for us.”

According to Florsheim, customers, such as Primus Power, demand many of the features that the cloud provides: ease of deployment, flexibility, scalability, and global collaboration capabilities as well as real-time visibility across the enterprise with a system that’s easy to learn and use. With the cloud, there are no more complex and costly upgrades, nor problems stemming from upgrading server infrastructure.

“On the feature side, companies now require more automation (e.g. for their sales order process), tighter control, and more efficient business processes,” he says. “The real-time visibility combined with social collaboration enables customers to manage their supply chain more efficiently. This is the power of integrating our ERP solution with Arena’s cloud-based PLM solution.”

“People here at Primus Power no longer say, ‘Did we order that bracket?’ They can now actually see whether or not it’s on order,” says Collins. “They can quickly find the purchase order and the promised delivery date. So much information is now available at people’s fingertips simply because we created a part number that’s now searchable in the system.”
